How to Reset an Airbag Lite

Yous tin reset the airbag light on your vehicle from your home garage, saving yourself a trip to the dealership or mechanic. The airbag light, also known as the SRS lite (supplemental restraint system), illuminates on the vehicle'southward musical instrument panel commonly merely after the vehicle has been in an accident and the airbag has deployed. Only there are other circumstances that may cause the SRS light to turn on, such as later on the installation of a new radio or there a malfunction within the airbag system itself. After all repairs have been performed, you tin can reset the airbag light yourself using a handheld computerized tool purchased from an auto parts retailer.

Step 1

Put the central into the ignition and turn the switch to the "on" position.

Step ii

Watch for the airbag light to plough on. It will stay illuminated for seven seconds and then shut itself off. After it shuts off, immediately plough the switch off and await three seconds.

Step 3

Repeat Steps i and 2 two more times.

Start the engine. The SRS light should come up on for seven seconds, and then shut off and stay off. The airbag light has been reset.
